it's been such a long time since we did one of our currently loving features but we saw Derek's Winter Edit today and had to share.
we've been fans of Derek's beautiful ceramics since meeting him at Origin a few years ago and are lucky enough to own 4 pieces of his work.
"Winter Edit is a curated selection of samples, limited editions and exclusive gallery pieces direct from the studio" Derek Wilson Ceramics

currently loving: neon wetsuits
we discovered these very cool wetsuits a while back and I {sammy} have been lusting after them ever since.
neon are a small local company with origins similar to ours and we love founder Elsie's blog post explaining how she wanted to do things her own way.
we love the simplicity of the designs and the fact that you can create your own colour combinations, and that all the wetsuits are handmade to order in their studio in Cornwall.
aren't they beautiful ..... I've worked out my favourites.
I seem to be drawn to the greys, pinks & blues.
check out more on their beautiful website {here}

for our latest currently loving collection we thought we'd feature pia's new online portfolio.
we've followed pia's blog ever since we started our own journal. we love reading her stories about distant places she's visited, or a day spent simply watching the snow fall in winter in amsterdam. her stories about artists and beautiful handmade design. and stories of her own work as a stylist, photographer & writer. they are always told so beautifully and accompanied with the loveliest of images.
pia has just launched her new website/portfolio where you can see a beautiful collection of images of her styling, photography and snippets from her books - paris: made by hand, amsterdam: made by hand & her soon to be published travel memoir my heart wanders.
here is a little selection of some of our favourite images of pia's work - click on the link below to see more & enjoy.

our currently loving collection this week is all about one shop - Analogue Life. I'm sure it's no surprise to you that we love japanese design - our own aesthetic is based on simplicity and paring down a design to its essence. the japanese pieces that we are drawn to seem to strip away all pretence, leaving humble but elegant designs.
I'm sure we will touch on this subject again and feature more from Analogue Life's beautiful collection - it was difficult enought to choose just 4 to show you here. Do take a look at the rest of their collection and let us know your favourites, if you'd like. We also really love the metal plates, knifes & spoons by Kanehen {here}.
details & links below. enjoy.

cara series - egg cups, milk pitcher & drinking cups designed by Rina Ono and handcrafted by Hidetoshi Takahashi.
small cup - Jurgen Lehl's Babaghuri pottery, moulded & shaped from gourds and coconuts.
perna tea cup & saucer - semiporcelain tableware from 4th-market's Perna line.
ironware ash boxes & trivets - designed by Sゝゝ and created at the Morihisa Suzuki Workshop.
