rusty steel mirrors

we've done a few little updates to our website recently, one being our rusty steel mirrors added to our accessories page.
we showed these a few months ago at origin and had such great feedback - hope you like them too.
each one has a strip of mirror glass below a section of reclaimed rusty steel, each one being different due to the markings & colours left in the steel by old paint and scratches and weathering.

our first show this winter is hereford contemporary craft fair, 11th - 13th november at the courtyard centre for the arts. the show will be open from 10am - 6pm on friday & saturday and 10am - 5pm on the sunday. we have 3 tickets to giveaway to the private view which is on thursday evening - email us at info{at}pachadesign.co.uk by 7th nov with your name & postal address for your chance to win.

origin 2011: part 2

as promised, here is a little selection of some of the work that we liked at this years Origin.

we thought we'd start with Derek Wilson's beautiful work because he is one of our favourite ceramicists. we met Derek at last years show and absolutely fell in love with his work. this year we got 4 pieces from him: a beautiful large stemmed bowl, a little pourer, a tea pot, and a little lidded pot in chalky grey. it's so nice when you meet a designer maker, who's work you really love, and they share the same appreciation for your work. Derek got one of our groupie tables that we had at Origin this year - a little low bench/table with a lovely silvery grey old oak top.

origin 2011: part 1

thanks to everyone that visited us at Origin this year. we had a really lovely show and met some great people. thanks to our lovely neighbours ella, abigail, norman, stephanie and katie for keeping us entertained for the week.

we are still here! despite our lack of blog posts lately.
we just got back from Origin so lots to tell you about,

welcombe open studios 2011

our last event of the summer this year is Welcombe Open Studios 2011 {12th - 14th august}.
we will be opening our studio {follow signs to studio 1} for 3 days & will be having a little sale of our furniture and accessories - 20% of all accessories at the studio {mirrors from £28, slate sushi plates from £24 a set, oak chopping/serving boards from £12, oak & slate lamps from £156, & more}.
we will also be reducing all furniture shown at the studio during the 3 day event {see image for details and prices}.

Welcombe Open Studios, now in it's 6th year, has 8 artists & designer makers opening their studios for 3 days. Come & see where they create their work and buy directly from them or commission a special piece, from ceramics to paintings, furniture to textiles, photography to poetry, and more.
And for the first time, this year the event has a hands on art for families day {friday only, 11am - 3pm} at Welcombe Mouth Beach, hosted by the National Trust.
Most studios are within walking distance of each other but all have parking facilities if you do intend to drive - all studios will be signposted from the A39 & around the village.
Detailed leaflets with a map to find all studios will be available in Welcombe.
