a few late thank you's for some lovely recent press.

our asymmetrical blackened oak serving boards were featured in the march 2014 issue of Elle Decoration.
the style story "modern minimal" was styled by Sania Pell and photographed by Uli Schade.
it's our 1st time in the magazine so a huge thank you to Sania for using one of our pieces.

we are currently working on new blackened oak boards {they aren't available on our website yet} so we will keep you posted.

we were recently asked to answer a few questions about our work for the Parcelforce Worldwide blog as part of their look at Great British Brands - take a look at our interview here and thanks to Suzanne for putting this together.

we've had a couple of nice blog features lately and consequently discovered two lovely new blogs.

cathy is an interiors journalist, stylist and design consultant now based back in her home of Ireland after having various editorial roles for leading magazines in London and South Africa.
cathy's blog celt "explores artisanal life from the celtic regions - Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Scotland & Wales"
we discovered celt after cathy featured our oak edge & slate dining table on her post "new folk style"{here}and we are now avid readers.

the design for(u)m blog is run by the members of the development & design team at Kronospan and is where they share the stuff they find & love whilst researching trends and inspiration.
the blog features lots of british design, especially designers using wood.
jess from the team wrote a lovely piece {here} about us this morning featuring some of our favourite pieces from our furniture range .

thanks to everyone that came to see us at Midcentury Modern and for all your lovely compliments about our work. we had a really nice day and managed to raise a little cash {£90 in total} for the japanese tsunami appeal too - we were donating 50% from all our sushi serving plate sales to the british redcross so thankyou very much if you bought some on sunday.

currently loving

hope you all had a lovely weekend. we finally managed to spend some time in our garden and sort some stuff out, so there will be a little garden update coming soon. and we finished a bit of decorating too, so a productive couple of days for us.

we added 2 new furniture pieces to our website on friday and our lovely friend David over at YHBHS featured our kaiseki table straight away {here}. thankyou David! we will be doing an interview with David soon for his lovely blog - we'll keep you posted.

new work - kaiseki

we added a couple of new pieces to our website today - this piece is called kaiseki and combines beautiful locally sourced oak and powder-coated black steel with stainless steel bolts. we also designed benches as a seating option for the table.


we named this piece after the japanese style of cuisine - kaiseki transforms the everyday & mundane. it uses simple seasonal ingredients and creates dishes of elegant simplicity & style.

the kaiseki table & bench was made for matthew & barbara's beautiful london kitchen and is featured on the product pages of the march 2011 issue of Icon magazine.

news snippets

we've been busy this week - we've been working on a few updates for the website (not on there yet, but soon), making orders for a couple of galleries, decorating our house (slowly) and getting seeds ready for our garden (we are looking forward to getting out there and sorting out the beds). how's your week been so far ?

we have a couple of new pieces of furniture to show you very soon and we'll have details of our next shows, exhibitions & open studios coming up too.

a few thankyou's

thankyou to everyone that came to see us at the crux craft fair at the weekend and especially to Molly & Mr G ... it was really lovely to meet you both and glad you liked the lanterns you bought from us. we completely sold out of them just after you bought yours.
Molly wrote a lovely piece about us {here} on her blog last week and then came to visit us at the fair. you can read about her day at crux craft fair {here}.

work and press

we've missed a couple of weeks of posting on the blog, as you know, but have been working hard (hope you haven't missed our posts too much). we had lots of gallery orders that are all finished and delivered now and we just delivered a beautiful commission that we will tell you all about very soon. we've been planning for a couple of shows we have coming up, one of them being the Welcombe Open Studios '10, which has crept up so fast and is this weekend! our next post will give you all the details. there is lots more we have been doing but we'll update you over the next few posts.




in the meantime, we wanted to say thankyou to Matthew Brace for including our chaise longue in his piece "Sitting pretty: the chaise longue through the years" for Abu Dhabi's English newspaper The National. we are flattered that he said "an absolute must in my minimalist home of the future is this divinely simple but warm and welcoming model by pachadesign ...... thankyou to everyone that came to our open studio, we really enjoyed it. the weather was beautiful and it was lovely catching up with you all. thanks to everyone that bought work from us and if you couldn't make it, we will be on Exeter Cathedral Green for the Exeter Craft Festival on the 2nd & 3rd of july, along with about 100 other makers all based in Devon.

we are open & a few thankyou's

we are all set up & ready for our open studio which starts today at 10.30am. we've made some new chopping boards and some more sets of coasters & japanese plates and have tried a new configuration for our squares mirrors this time. we are open today until 4.30pm and the same again for saturday & sunday - hope to see you here!

it's been a busy week for us (hence the lack of posts) and probably going to get busier, as we have shows coming up soon. over the next few weeks we'll give you more details about the shows & open studios and hopefully see some of you there. we've been working on some new pieces, so we'll tell you about them too.




a couple of little changes on our website: we have just updated the events & news page {here} and we have added a press page {here} - we might work on this a little bit more when we have more time but for the moment it gives you an idea.

a little bit of recent press we've had is our leaf lanterns have been featured in the US magazine Get Married - you can view the magazine online {here}. a big thankyou to Kelly from the magazine for contacting us about our leaf lanterns. at the moment you can only click and buy from our website for posting to the UK but we do post to the rest of europe and internationally, so just drop us an email for p&p prices.
